MAKE YOUR OWN PUMPKIN PIE SPICE
No matter the season, theres always a reason!
For those of us who can’t get their hands on that beloved ‘Trader Joes’ Pumpkin Pie Spice, fear not! I’m here to share with you my own twist on making your own variation of Pumpkin Pie Spice using all of the same spices used in the real thing!
I love being able to create quick substitutions or variations and, as a self-taught baker having grown by reading and re-creating American based recipes, I’m very familiar with having to think on the spot to find a replacement for lots of things… Pumpkin Pie Spice being one of them!
Some of my favourite pumpkin pie flavoured recipes I mentioned in my ‘American Haul’ blog, but there really are so many online that the possibilities are endless! Pinterest has been my Godsend for such things and I’m tempted to create a board solely dedicated to it…in fact… I will!
Although pumpkin spice is just a mix of spices that are readily available to us, it’s the ratios and blends that make all the flavour difference and having tried a few, I have created a delicious concoction of my own!
I felt it was necessary to create a little mix for all of us ‘Australians’ to enjoy as I am including a few new recipes to my blog that require this spice to make your recipes sing with pumpkin pie flavour.
So, bust those unused spices out of the cupboard and let’s create some magic!
Difficulty: Super Duper Easy!

Measure each of the spices into a small bowl. Stir until completely mixed, enjoy!
Not even kidding, that’s it!
I like to store mine into a cute air-tight container with 2 mini cinnamon sticks to enhance that cinnamon flavour!
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
¼ tsp Ground Nutmeg
¼ tsp Ground Ginger
1/8 tsp Ground Cloves
A pinch of Cardamom Seeds (or ground)
2 mini Cinnamon Sticks
